How Can I Benefit From Massage Therapy?

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissues, ligaments and tendons. In our society today, it is difficult to come across an individual that hasn’t experienced some form of massage therapy, but having said that not every massage is the same. In order to ensure that you have the highest quality massage experience it is always important to seek treatment from a trained professional. These professionals are called registered massage therapists. They receive extensive training to ensure that they provide the highest quality of treatment which includes knowing how to avoid harm.

Everyone can benefit from massage therapy in some form. This is whether you have a specific condition or area you need to focus on or you could do with more of a relaxing massage to de-stress. All massage therapists at Vibrant Healing are trained to give whole-body massages or target a specific area of your choosing. They also all have hands-on experience treating a wide variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including but not limited to headaches, muscle aches, trigger points, strains, sprains, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff injury, discomfort from pregnancy, neck pain, upper back tightness, low back pain and sciatica, as well as overall relaxation massages. Every massage is tailored to each individual client as the massage therapist performs the treatment at varying pressures. This is depending on the comfort and needs of that client.

Clients can book massage appointments varying in time from 30 minutes up to 90 minutes depending on their preference. The massage time will start once the massage therapist begins the treatment. This is to ensure that the client always gets the full-time they booked. If the client chooses to focus on a specific problem it is the therapist’s goal to tackle and treat as much of the issue as possible. This is in the time allotted for treatment. At the end of the treatment, the therapist will follow up with the client on when they should return for their next treatment. This is in the massage therapist’s professional opinion. At this point, the client can decide if they would like more or less time for their upcoming appointment. Upon returning for their next massage, clients are encouraged to let their therapist know if they would like them to do anything differently from their last appointment. This is one way we ensure each massage is tailored to our client’s needs and preferences.

The Therapist

Each massage therapist has developed his or her unique style of treatment. Clients are encouraged to try different therapists in order to determine which therapist they prefer. The massage therapists at the clinic are comfortable sharing and treating clients that other therapists at the clinic have seen and treated. This allows clients to experience different treatment methods at the same clinic. Many clients often realize there are two therapists whose treatments they prefer. They can book whichever therapist is available at the time they want to come in.

The most critical thing to remember when receiving massage therapy treatment is to communicate. Let your therapist know what you want during your massage and what you’re looking to achieve. Once the massage therapist knows your expectations they can ensure to the fullest extent of their abilities that you get exactly what you’re looking for from each of your massages.
