What Is Laser Therapy?

When at Vibrant Healing one of the treatment methods which may be recommended to patients or that can be requested is laser therapy. The type of laser used at the clinic is a grade 3 Bioflex laser unit. Before receiving a laser therapy treatment patients will be required to complete a health history and physical examination. This will allow the chiropractor to determine the treatment goals of the patient as well as the best treatment plan. Should laser therapy be recommended the chiropractor will then explain the best treatment protocol for each patient.

How it Works

How laser therapy works are it produces light energy and deposits it into the cells of your body at the area being treated. This energy is then used by the cells to speed up their natural healing process.  This can be seen in a number of different ways in the body through decreased inflammation and edema, increased nerve regeneration, increased cartilage production and increased bone formation. This translates to the patient experiencing an elimination of pain and inflammation and accelerated healing of tissues.

Conditions it Can Treat

The conditions which can be treated by the laser include but are not limited to soft tissue and sports injuries (ligament and tendon tears, muscle strains, tendonitis and bruises), arthritic conditions (arthritis, degenerative osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, vertebral radiculopathy and chronic spinal problems), repetitive motion injuries (carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff injuries and tennis elbow), wound healing (lesions such as burns and scar tissue) and others (plantar fasciitis, disc herniation’s and spinal stenosis). Laser therapy is a highly effective treatment option which is non-invasive, non-toxic, easily applied and has no adverse effects.
